ACE Business Alliance

The Ace Business Alliance (ABA) aims to bring together Alnwick’s business community so that they provide mutual support, share best practices, and to facilitate effective, collective lobbying of local and regional government, with the aim to grow and attract investment, create jobs and drive regeneration in Alnwick, to help make Alnwick a sustained, attractive hub for enterprise and innovation, supporting start-ups, the rural economy, and microbusinesses.

We want to:

  • Support existing and start-up businesses to grow and develop resilience through networking, the provision of business focused masterclasses, and access to resources.
  •  Encourage adoption of new technologies, digital tools, and sustainable practices.
  •  Connect local employers to training initiatives, apprenticeships, and local schools to develop a pipeline of skilled workers. Training initiatives will be promoted in partnership with EPIC a newly created facility also established by ACE.
  •  Provide a unified voice for Alnwick’s business community in discussions, for example with Alnwick Town Council, Northumberland County Council, and the North East Mayoral Combined Authority.

Why should my organization get involved with ABA?

Alnwick already has a thriving business community, comprising both SMEs and larger businesses.

However, there is an absence of coordination for addressing issues of common concern, for lobbying with local government, and for sharing with, and learning from, one another.

The recent and successful efforts led by ACE to mobilise both the business, and wider community to submit a bid for the 2028 Town of Culture has already demonstrated the value of such coordination. Initiatives which can be taken forward by ABA include lobbying for improved transport links, affordable housing; helping with skills development; bringing a collective business voice to address barriers to progress.

ABA will succeed through the active participation of its members. We will establish a steering committee that will set the agenda, organise events, and propose initiatives.  Other members will be invited to contribute to these events and initiatives. Overall direction, including determination of steering committee membership, will be provided by ACE.

If you are ready to take part in ABA, please get in touch.
