Launch of Town of Culture Bid

Following a highly successful community consultation, Alnwick has officially launched its bid for Town of Culture 2028.

Over 1,000 voices from across the town, spanning ages 5 to 94, helped shape the vision, with over 80% support for the bid.

The consultation revealed strong pride in Alnwick’s heritage, a desire for a more vibrant town centre, and enthusiasm for a rich programme of music, events and cultural activity that brings the whole community together.

We expect to hear about our bid by the Summer.   Though we would love to be able to progress through the Town of Culture programme, our consultation has demonstrated the level of enthusiasm for this activity and we intend to continue with our work whatever the outcome of the Town of Culture Bid.

Heritage Open Days

We are looking for businesses past and present who would be interested in getting involved in Heritage Open Days, taking place on 19th September 2026 to support the expanded programme of  "The World of Work" in Alnwick.

Digital Champion Needed

Interested in gaining real digital experience while supporting your community?

ACE is looking for a volunteer to help keep our website updated and build our social media presence.

This is a great opportunity for a school/college student or anyone interested in marketing, media or digital skills to gain hands-on experience working on real projects that support Alnwick and the wider community.

Support and guidance will be provided, and the role can help build valuable experience for future study or employment.

If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, we'd love to hear from you.
